Their wars! Our deaths!   Is the slogan of our comrades in the French NPA.

In the aftermath of the French slaughter Hollande declared war. But France imperialism has been at war in Africa and the Middle East for some time.

There is a quite simple cause and effect between the slaughter the West and Russia are raining down in Syria and Iraq and the various atrocities in the West.

Now we are told that the answer is more of the same. Police states are declared across Europe. Refugees, produced by the West’s warmongering, are demonised and shuffled towards concentration camps. Enda signs away the remnants of Irish neutrality with a stroke of the pen. The British government declares that more bombs are needed.

The downing of a Russian bomber is hardly accidental and illustrates that possibility of war between the contending powers that would reach into Europe.

The only sensible comment comes from a comedian  - Frankie Boyle -who says that the strategy amounts to hitting a hornets nest with a stick. 

There has never been a greater need for working class action-for a principled anti-war movement.
