Dear SD,

I thought you would appreciate this site on intelligent design.  It is possible to watch the entire program on line.   Nova is the premiere science program in the States.  I was happy to see it aired nationally.  It gives a little slice of the retrograde attitudes towards science in the US at the moment.   Those attitudes equate nicely with US liberal agnosticism (in the secular, political sense) that has allowed for capitalism's continued hold on the imagination of the American worker.  Only twenty years ago when I was in high school these kinds of attacks on science would have been impossible in the public schools.  The liberal malaise of the Clinton years opened door to these attacks as much as it opened the way for Bush and the neo-cons.
